Twelve-page zine dedicated to the love of a moka pot using research, writing, and visual analysis.
This zine focuses on moka pot as a personal artifact, elevating its cultural and everyday significance. The zine includes an ode, research on the object’s origins, written questions, a semiotic diagram, a step-by-step guide, and images of the moka pot. These elements work together to examine the object beyond its function and consider its role within the home and Hispanic culture.
Hand-drawn illustrations reflect the personal nature. A black-and-white color palette keeps the focus on the line, texture, and composition. The project shows how visual style and content can work together to communicate the meaning of an everyday object.
